Some months ago a mixed collection of photographs and documents belonging to Eliza and Herbert Fox was found, prompting the task of scanning and organizing the frail pieces of paper that are more than a century old. Family members have helped map out the names, and a genealogical search started in aim of finding a more accurate story.
This website was developed as a result of the ongoing research - essentially a virtual scrapbook displaying papers the Foxes had saved for sharing with their descendants. Hopefully it will be useful for anyone else delving into the Fox/McCarthy family history.
Acknowledgements to the Dunnville District Heritage Association and the Bradwell Historical Society for taking the time to e-mail additional information. Thanks to Vintage Hamilton Photos for their work on Herbert's photos. A personal Thank You to Erik Mairs for unravelling the layers of the Fox family tree and re-graphing the lineage so names could be easily traced. And very grateful to Maggie Fox for her advice and sharing her collection of letters and their transcriptions first published on her blog: https://thefoxes.wordpress.com/
